Church on the Way - Upper Allan Street - Blairgowrie - Perthshire - PH10 6BA

After two weeks in Malindi working on the building project the teams have returned home.
The teams consisted of 13 people 7 from Canada and 6 from Scotland ranging from 16 to 73 years old, proving you can go on Mission at any age, all that’s required is a sensitivity to God’s voice to hear Him say “GO”
Under the supervision of Stan from Canada the teams worked vigorously during their time there, unfortunately due to 2 days of very heavy rain we were unable to complete the planned workload, nevertheless tremendous progress was made by laying down the foundation of the house and concrete to a 1/3 of the floor area had it not rained all of the floor would have been finished.
We have had to entrust the laying the remainder of the floor to a local builder in readiness for a bricklayer arriving from Germany in a couple of weeks to start & build up the walls.
Sadly the quality of the floor concrete being laid is not at the same standard as the first part although in due time all will be covered with terrazzo floor tiles and any imperfections will not be noticeable (although this will add further costs to the budget)
Due to this year’s political unrest and some other factors prices has risen considerably in some cases up to 50% or more an example being a bag of cement that cost 340 shillings is now 540 shillings.
Also delivery charges & the hire of cement mixers have risen due to fuel cost, nevertheless we still feel we can complete the build with a further £12-14000 ($28000) so we ask if you would care to contribute to this project please send your donations by way of cheque to our UK postal address or by Papal from the link on this page.
It is hoped that another team can go to Malindi this autumn to continue with the build. A major need is for people who are skilled within the building industry bricklayers, joiners, plumbers, electricians. The desire is that the house would be finished and ready for Ditte to move into by June 2009……..Are you able to help in any way?
